Dentures for Those in Spring Hill, Dade City, Brooksville, Winter Haven, Riverview & Nearby Areas
Losing teeth from infection, disease, decay or injury is not only unappealing, but it is harmful to your oral health. Dentures are replacement teeth that are removable. While they may take a little time to adjust to, they are able to control facial muscle sagging and make eating and talking much easier than it is when you are missing teeth. A cosmetic dentist here at Dental Associates of Florida will evaluate the state of your current oral health and recommend a treatment plan unique to you and your needs. While there are many options for replacing missing teeth, dentures will be recommended if you have multiple or all teeth missing, and we offer partial or full dentures for those who may need to consider this option.
There are several different types of dentures our cosmetic dentist may recommend. These include:
- Conventional Denture – After all remaining original teeth have been removed and have healed, a full set of dentures will be placed.
- Immediate Denture – These dentures are a full set that are immediately placed into the mouth after removing all teeth. This helps the bone reshape correctly during healing. Not everyone is a candidate for this type of denture.
- Partial Denture – Using metal bars attached to your teeth to keep them in place, these dentures are for only partially missing teeth. These are removable as well.
Your dentist will determine through evaluations, x-rays and talking with you if you are a candidate. Once recommended, your dentist will advise on the timing of your treatments and discuss which option are most suitable for you. Dentures do take some time to get used to. Your cosmetic dentist will prepare you for the transitioning process and schedule any follow up appointments that may be needed. Your dentures will last for quite some time, but because they are artificial, proper care needs to be followed. Visits to the dentist to check on the state of your dentures may be required in order to keep your mouth in top health.
